Membership

Classes of Members

The North Texas Chapter – ACS offers the following membership categories. Any qualified applicant may become a member by paying the appropriate dues.

 

  1. Initiate Members – Initiate members shall be first year members of the American College of Surgeons residing or practicing in North Texas who apply for membership in the Chapter and agree to comply with its Bylaws. Membership is limited to one year immediately following initiation in the College.
  2. Active Members – Active members shall be Fellows and Associate Fellows of the American College of Surgeons residing or practicing in North Texas who apply for membership in the Chapter and agree to comply with its Bylaws.
  3. Retired Members – Retired members shall be former active members of the Chapter who have retired from active practice and reside in North Texas.
  4. Nonresident Members – Nonresident members shall be Fellows of the American College of Surgeons who reside outside of the North Texas area but apply for membership in the Chapter and agree to comply with its Bylaws. This request must be approved by both the Chapter in the area in which the Fellow resides or practices and the American College of Surgeons.
  5. Candidate Members – Candidate members shall be members of the candidate group of the American College of Surgeons residing or practicing in North Texas who apply for membership in the Chapter and agree to comply with its Bylaws.
